Lake Hubbard cottage
Looking for a sweet, charming cottage on the shores of Hubbard Lake? You might try the Sandy Shores Retreat, a beautiful home overlooking 75 feet of private lake frontage. This is one of the finest swimming spots on Hubbard Lake. Located on the western shore with a sandbar and extensive shallow water, it's a perfect place for kids to play. The elegantly appointed, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home sleeps eight. Also available on an adjacent private lot is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cottage. Both homes are comfortably heated and fully furnished, including outdoor furniture, a charcoal grill, cable TV and phone.
A 50-foot Dock with hoist for boats up to 18 feet long is located on the property. There's also a 16-foot bass fishing boat available to rent. Call 989-727-3777 for rates and other info. A Lake Hubbard vacation getaway is popular any time of year. The area, which caters to tourists, has many beautiful sights and local activities to choose from. Lake Hubbard is a favorite destination for boaters and anglers in summer, but also appeals to ice-fishermen, skaters and snowmobile riders in winter. Other local activities include swimming, nature photography and hiking in the Huron National Forest. You might also play golf at the White Pine National Golf Club, located on the southeast edge of the lake. Or visit Newegon State Park along the shores of Thunder Bay, less than 20 miles east from there. Cute nearby towns include Alpena, Ossineke, Lincoln Village, and Hubbard Lake (an unincorporated community about a mile north of the lake itself).
