The state of Georgia is located in the southeastern part of the United States. It is bordered on the south by Florida, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and South Carolina, on the west by Alabama, and on the north by Tennessee and North Carolina.

In land area, Georgia is the largest state east of the Mississippi River.

Georgia's rugged northern terrain features the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains. This graduates into foothills and rivers as you reach the central region, while southern Georgia occupies part of the coastal plain.

Interesting Georgia tourist attractions include the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, the Six Flags White Water theme park in Marietta, the Lucy Craft Laney Black History Museum, Stone Mountain and the scenic Augusta Canal.
