But for now, let's define a LANDMARK as a large, attention-grabbing place or thing that is stationary, outdoors, visible from afar, easily recognizable, and man-made (For landmarks found in nature, see our NATURAL WONDERS page.)

Below you'll find a list of states, with the name and location of some of each state's most notable landmarks, accompanied by occasional photos. Some of these were chosen for their striking architectural design or artistic beauty. Others have historical significance. Some are just plain strange. A handful have achieved world record status. But all are interesting and truly unique.
