WYOMING MAP

Here's a free printable Wyoming map.

As you can see from the map shown here, the state's outline is a simple geometric shape. This is because Wyoming is one of only three states whose boundaries are formed entirely by lines of latitude and longitude.

Wyoming is bordered by Montana to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the east, Colorado to the south, Utah to the southwest, and Idaho to the west.

The United States acquired control of Wyoming from France as part of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.

In total land area, Wyoming is the tenth largest state in America, spanning about 275 miles from north to south, and about 375 miles from east to west. The state of Wyoming is made up of 23 counties.

Eastern Wyoming is part of the great Northern Plains region, but most of the land toward the west (over 2/3 of the state's total land area) is dominated by mountain ranges.

Wyoming was once inhabited by plains Indians of the Cheyenne, Arapahoe, Crow, Shoshone, Oglala and Brule tribes, among others.
